PLAXTOL MEMORIAL HALL, SCHOOL LANE, TN15 0QD
Formerly Plaxtol National School, the Memorial Hall is situated within a conservation area in the heart of Plaxtol village. The building is Grade 2 listed, constructed of brick, Kent ragstone, slate roof and oak frame windows. Built in 1847, it became the ‘village hall’ in 1964 and is a focal point for the community.
The main hall (98.1m2) with its stage can seat up to 100 people (or 80 seated at tables). The Committee room (27.4m2) is ideal for meetings and can hold up to 20 people. There is a well equipped kitchen, baby changing facility and disabled toilet. The car park will accommodate 11 vehicles.
The hall has many users/hirers including: Nursery School, Toddler Group, W.I., Men’s Society, History Group, Plaxtol Players, Parish Council, Parochial Church Council and is used for ballroom dancing, pilates, tai chi and judo classes. It can accommodate children’s parties (up to 12 years), wedding receptions, exhibitions and other functions.
